Aromatherapy Massage

The Oil Collection Story Expertly layered with the most natural and botanically sourced essential oils, and lovingly mixed with highly nourishing carrier oils, our collection of blended oils are perfect for massage treatments. Our blended oils are inspired by the countryside around us, and in their dry form are less messy and don’t require any showering, locking in skin reviving moisture. All of our oils are 100% natural, and are multi-faceted in their benefits: they flatter sensory requirements (relaxing, or invigorating), match to skin type (sensitive, or anti-wrinkle) Since massage is the oldest known therapy, and still the most popular by a west-country mile, a high quality and naturally blended oil can turn a good massage into a memorable experience.

What to expect from hot stone massage

Hot stone massage employs a variety of long strokes and techniques using the stones and hands, working over kinks in your muscles. You are unlikely to feel the intensity, since your muscles will be relaxed by the heat of the stones.

Hot stone massage should trigger a deeply relaxed, blissed-out and meditative state. Heat relaxes your body in a short space of time, so your massage therapist can focus on a deep working of the tissues using both hot stones and hand strokes. They are coated in fragrant oil which is smoothed gently onto your body, and each stone in turn is worked by your therapist’s hands.

The techniques can be light or firm which would be a personal choice to you as the client. Fresh towels will be used along with blankets and a warm room to ensure you feel comfortable throughout.

Hot Stone Tips!

Hot stone massage is a treat, so indulge as much as you can.

  • Arrive early so you have time enough to relax and absorb your surroundings
  • Food and Drink It’s not a good idea to eat a heavy meal or drink alcohol in the hours beforehand.
  • Time Your hot stones treatment is likely to last about an hour; plenty of time for melting away all your knots, aches and worries.
  • Medical Always tell your therapist about any medical conditions you have – particularly if you have heart disease or high blood pressure. They will take your medical history into account when choosing the right stones and techniques for your body.
  • Pregnancy For similar reasons to medical, tell your therapist if you are, or think you might be, pregnant
  • Heat Don’t be afraid to tell your therapist if the stones are too warm for you – they can be heated to 145 degrees Fahrenheit. You’ll relax much more quickly and start enjoying that delicious feeling of total well-being if you’re comfortable.
  • When to book We recommend you should book hot stone treatments on a day when you won’t have to rush out somewhere afterwards. You’ll feel so relaxed and soothed after your treatment, jumping in the and tackling the rush hour traffic might seem sacrilegious.
